The Centre for Education Policy Development (CEPD) is a leading education research NGO which contributes towards building a society in which there is quality education and training for all, based on the core values of Access, Equity and Redress, Development, Democracy and Non-Discrimination.
CEPD seeks to appoint a Research Intern, based in Johannesburg.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who want to pursue a career in education (particularly post-schooling) policy research. Applicants should hold a recently completed Master’s degree, or have made substantial progress towards one, in the Social Sciences (preferably Education/ History/Sociology/Political Science or allied disciplines).
- As part of a team, undertake research and project management activities under supervision of the Research Manager or designated senior researcher/s;
- Write reports in clearly expressed English;
- Make oral presentations at seminars, workshops and conferences as and when necessary;
- Participate in fora where educational issues are discussed and debated;The incumbents must be prepared to travel on fieldwork when necessary, and holding a valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
