Intern Receptionist/Trainer 2015

Are you a friendly, active go-getter? Looking to get into the gym or fitness industry? We're looking for a top-notch receptionist (and future floor instructor) for our new world-class indoor climbing gym in Bellville.

You'll get to learn the ins and out of running a gym from our existing, kick-ass team, and get to rack up work experience every day - all with the opportunity for this to become a full-time position at the end of a 3-6 month internship period.

Your duties would include:
- Meeting and greeting clients and climbers as they arrive
- Processing payments and membership enquiries
- Assisting with gear rental and fitting
- Managing groups for events and kids birthday parties
- Helping with food, drink and gear sales
- Cleaning and maintaining a first-class gym environment
- Participating in marketing activities

Climbing experience is beneficial, but not compulsory, and we can teach you everything you need to know to be a great instructor in time. You do need to be friendly, patient, reliable, trustworthy, and a team player. Your own transport is required.

We're open 7 days a week, for 8-10 hours a day, and would need you to be able to cover at least 5 shifts per week - most likely Monday-Thursday, and one weekend day. Age, race, and gender don't matter - what counts is your attitude and willingness to learn.

This is a paid internship, with a monthly stipend of R1250 on offer. If you fit the bill, and meet all of our criteria for a good team member at the end of the internship, this could turn into a full-time position, with a salary to be negotiated. As you will have quiet times on shift, this would definitely suit a student who is studying part-time or by distance learning. We're also looking to fill this position in the next few days to a week, so immediate availability is essential.

Please drop us a line at with a short CV (3 pages max), and a brief cover letter of 50-100 word telling us why you think you'd be a good fit. We look forward to hearing from you!
