Migration Intern At Save The Children Int 2015

Key Areas of Accountability

  • Compile documents, keep record of and file raw data to support mid-term review process and other migration related research projects such as the upcoming Knowledge, Attitude and Practices Survey on children on the move and the documentation of the cross-border working group methodology;

  • Assist with data management, cleaning of data, and quality control

  • Write and edit reports and memos to make quantitative and qualitative data easily understandable to general audiences and SCI colleagues across the region

  • Manage Child Protection Dropbox and assist in dissemination of final reports

  • Undertake some communications internally within the international SCI community of practice to share learning from SARO-based Child Protection research processes

  • Capture case studies and success stories in line with ongoing research and advocacy needs.

Qualification and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field in Social Sciences;

  • Demonstrate an understanding of child protection within the context of mixed migration

  • Enjoy working with minimum supervision and be a self-starter

  • Be able to commit at least 15 hours per week for at least 6 months

  • Portuguese or Shona proficiency would be a bonus but is not required

  • Sound knowledge and demonstrable experience of social research methods

  • Excellent academic writing and rigorous analytical skills

  • Be detail-oriented
