Key responsibilities:

 Assist staff to obtain quotations and relevant information for any purchases as and when necessary;

 Assist staff to complete the CSIR procurement processes as appropriate, and comply with the CSIR procurement policy at all times;

 Use the CSIR procurement system efficiently and effectively to place orders and receive them timeously;

 Facilitate the registration of new suppliers/ customers onto the CSIR system in conjunction with the CSIR procurement and finances offices;

 Follow-up and obtain necessary documentation to ensure all key suppliers/ customers are kept active on the CSIR system;

 Assist with interactions and information requests between the Protein Technologies competency area, the CSIR procurement office and the finance offices;

 Assist with any relevant enquiries on purchases from staff, suppliers or others;

 Update staff on progress relating to their orders;

 Maintain the bulk and chemical store minimum levels.

Qualifications and skills:

 A National diploma in procurement or logistics. A postgraduate qualification would be an advantage;

 A strong work ethic (e.g. accountability and reliability) and the ability to work under supervision within a dynamic team environment.

o Record-keeping skills; o Ability to extract information from the systems and present to users;

o Excellent communication skills;
