Assist staff to obtain quotations and relevant information for any purchases as and when necessary;
Assist staff to complete the CSIR procurement processes as appropriate, and comply with the CSIR procurement policy at all times;
Use the CSIR procurement system efficiently and effectively to place orders and receive them timeously;
Facilitate the registration of new suppliers/ customers onto the CSIR system in conjunction with the CSIR procurement and finances offices;
Follow-up and obtain necessary documentation to ensure all key suppliers/ customers are kept active on the CSIR system;
Assist with interactions and information requests between the Protein Technologies competency area, the CSIR procurement office and the finance offices;
Assist with any relevant enquiries on purchases from staff, suppliers or others;
Update staff on progress relating to their orders;
Maintain the bulk and chemical store minimum levels.
Qualifications and skills:
A National diploma in procurement or logistics. A postgraduate qualification would be an advantage;
A strong work ethic (e.g. accountability and reliability) and the ability to work under supervision within a dynamic team environment.
