Katoen Natie has 181 logistic platforms and is active in 28 countries all over Europe, North America, South America, Africa and the Far East with a staff of more than 12 000 people.

In order to continue the growth of our group, the business unit Petrochemicals is looking for Management Trainees to take up future positions in South Africa (or abroad).

Job description

• As a future Manager you will become responsible for the daily way of working of a specific department or a complete logistics platform. The number of your staff ranges from 5 to 150.

• You will start a 2-year intensive training in all relevant fields of value added logistics, supply chain services, and semi-industrial activities for the business unit Petrochemicals. The training period will be characterized by hands-on assignments in various fields of activities (i.e. packaging, warehousing, logistics, administration, maintenance, inventory control)

• As a future Manager we count on your skills in the following areas: people management, responsible care, customer satisfaction, planning, public relations and finance. Problem ownership and hands on mentality are key drivers.

Appropriate Tertiary Qualification(s) (such as Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Economics, Logistics)
Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Ppt.
Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety is an asset.
Strong knowledge of languages. Languages in excess of English (such as isiZulu, Afrikaans) are an asset.
Willing to move within South Africa for longer period (4y)
Hands on mentality, willingness to work on the floor, problem solver, strong negotiator, creative organizer and commercial flair will be daily needed qualities.
