Editorial Assistant Intern At New Media Publishing 2016

New Media Publishing is seeking to appoint a bright, meticulous and dynamic editorial assistant to work on its MultiChoice brand.

The position is based in Cape Town, with the appointee reporting to the digital content manager. The role requires an eye for detail, an inquiring mind and a passion for the media industry. A proactive, self-motivated, hard-working team player will relish this challenge.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Edit, sub and upload content received
  • Resize supporting images 
  • Upload supporting galleries
  • Upload monthly Box Office movies
  • Write series synopsis and upload
  • Write copy for website banners 
  • Assist with general uploads of content and galleries 
  • Any portal related admin assistance that may be requested
  • Proofread website content for grammar and spelling accuracy


  • Attention to detail
  • Strong language, writing and grammar skills
  • Journalism or language qualification
  • One to two years' working experience


  • Experience in working on a content management system
  • Basic Photoshop knowledge
