Front-end Customer Support Internship at M-Net 2016

M-Net seeks to appoint a suitably qualified individual to assume responsibility as a Front-end Customer Support Intern within the Media Information Management business unit (MAM). This person will report to the Manager: MAM Front-end Customer Support and will be based at our offices in Randburg.

The MAM Front-end Customer Support Intern position will be responsible for the effective front-end support to M-Net and will be responsible for the effective and successful MAM front-end support to M-Net and maintenance of the Digital Library system (Ardome/Viz One).

The strategic intent of the Media Information Management business unit is the successful media asset management support, with a focus on improved client services. The MAM Front-end Customer Support Operator Intern will work and regularly meet with the SuperSport MAM team, as well as all relevant internal stakeholders to ensure successful service delivery, continuously improve services and ensure client satisfaction.

Operator Intern includes the following:
  • Management of the Digital Library (video and audio files) (Ardome/Viz One)
  • Managing the administration on Media Asset Management System (Ardome/Viz One)
  • Monitoring transfers of material
  • Monitoring Ingest activities
  • Ensuring on time delivery of digital material for play out
  • Ensuring quality of digital material
  • Monitoring and managing storage resource on systems
  • Diagnosing and ensuring accurate remedy of first level problems
  • Responding to user requests
  • Analysing play-out schedules and determining priorities, as well as type and quantity of media required
  • Compiling and maintaining media inventory and status information to expedite movement of material between production areas
  • Relevant 3 year graduate or post-graduate degree/ national diploma in Information Technology or Information Sciences
  • Customer interfacing experience (preferably IT Help Desk or call centre)
  • Good knowledge of server and information technology
  • Functional knowledge of hardware and software applications
  • Understanding of media management
  • Understanding of MultiChoice Platforms and territories
  • Knowledge of the digital library and archive workflows (advantageous)
  • Understanding or knowledge of Media Asset Management Systems (advantageous)
  • An excellent understanding of customer service/service excellence
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with and train staff
  • Ability to deal with detail for concentrated periods of time
