About the role
As a graduate in our team you will be working closely with client managers and product actuaries. You will support the client managers on various client projects in both South Africa (SA) and Sub Saharan Africa (SSA). Furthermore you will be supporting them in the monitoring and reporting of the SA key client plan execution and the SSA strategy, in managing the processes, preparing client facing documentation/ presentations and building direct relationships with appropriate individuals at clients. Additionally you will be exposed to the products team by providing actuarial input and support on a range of projects and initiatives including experience studies, modelling and pricing.
About the team
The Swiss Re Life and Health (L&H) Products and Client Management teams are responsible for the development and profitability of our various product lines in Africa. We identify, analyze and monitor key business driver and develop new products to support the growth of the L&H reinsurance business in Africa.
Successfully completed university degree in actuarial science
Strong analytical skills and ability to focus on details, without losing track of the bigger picture
Strong motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance. Some knowledge of L&H (re)insurance products an advantage
Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment
Mature & self-confident; ability to collaborate with clients, business partners and senior colleagues
Proven ability to work independently, with minimal instruction and monitoring
Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, is a fast learner
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint)
