NHC Internship Opportunities 2017

The National Heritage Council of South Africa is a statutory body that is responsible for the preservation of the country’s heritage. Since its existence on 26 February 2004, it has managed to place heritage as a priority for nation building and national identity.



A schedule 3A public entity that came into existence through an amendment of the Cultural Laws Second Amendment Act 69 of 2001, The National Heritage Council of South Africa was officially constituted through the National Heritage Council Act 11 of 1999, which was assented to on 14 April1999 and officially proclaimed on 26 February 2004.

The National Heritage Council (NHC) invites applications for Internship opportunities that the NHC is offering for 2017/2018. The Internship Programme will run for a period of 12 months. A monthly stipend will be paid ot successful candidates.

Requirements:
  • Unemployed graduates who have successfully completed a three (3)-year Degree or National Diploma in any field specified below and who are between the ages of 18 and 35 years may apply.
  • Students that still need to finish or qualify for a Degree or National Diploma should not apply.

The following are the Internship opportunities that currently exist within the NHC:
  • Living Heritage Core Business (Ref: 01) –  3-year Degree/Diploma in: Social Sciences, Heritage Studies, History or equivalent (02 Positions)
  • Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation (Ref: 02)  –  3-year Degree/Diploma in Economics, Social Sciences or Developmental Studies (01 Position)
  • Marketing & Communications (Ref: 03) – 3-year Degree/Diploma in: Communication & Public Relations or equivalent (01 Position)
  • Finance & Supply Chain Management (Ref: 04)  – 3-year Degree/Diploma in: Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or equivalent (01 Position)
  • Human Resource Management (Ref: 05) –  3-year Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management, Public Administration or equivalent  (01 Position)
Please note the following:
Applicants should not have had previous formal employment related to their field of study. Only candidates who have not previously benefited from an Internship programme will be considered.The National Heritage Council will not make provision for transport and/or accommodation to any candidate, whether traveling from or outside Gauteng Province.

The NHC will not provide accommodation for any appointed candidate from or outside of Gauteng.

The closing date for the applications is 10 September 2017 at 12h00.
