Human Capital Internship at Sasria 2018

Sasria, a state-owned company, is the only short-term insurer in South Africa that provides affordable
voluntary cover against special risks such as civil commotion, public disorder, strikes, riots and terrorism to any individual, business, government or corporate entity that has assets in South Africa.

Job summary statement/purpose
Provide administrative support to the HC team for HC activities and projects in full compliance with
internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
1. HC Administration
Assist with:
 Payroll administration
 Employee take on – capture all new employees onto payroll system
 Ensure correct leave allowances and balances appear on the payroll system
 Benefits administration (ensure medical aid declarations are up to date)
 Record keeping and updating of employee files

2. HC Operations
Assist with:
 Recruitment administration – Schedule interviews, liaise with recruiters and candidates,
prepare interview packs, maintain a recruitment spreadsheet)
 Employment Equity (Annual collection of EEA1 forms, collating of EE barriers as collected
from EE & SD forum members)
 Collate performance scorecards and rating sheets
 Employee relations
 Coordination of employee wellness initiatives; provide update on the approved employee
wellness plan
 BEE audits –data collation

3. HC Learning and development
Assist with:
 Training activity information collation
 Verify attendance of training
 Check alignment of training to PDP’s
 Capturing of training information
 Assist as and when required
4. HC Learning and development
Assist with:
 Arrangements of HC events
 Provide admin support for HC projects as per HC annual calendar
5. Ad hoc duties
 Perform any reasonable task as and when required by the Line Manager

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
 Completed Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management/Human Resource
Development/ Organisational Psychology.
 1 year experience as an HR Intern is preferable.

Knowledge:

 Knowledge of HC related legislation
 Basic knowledge of business principles
