Reuters News Agency has an opportunity to appoint a full time Media Sales Support Intern in South Africa who will be responsible for supporting the function of the Senior Account Manager.

The intern hired for this position has the opportunity to learn under the mentorship of a successful media team for a yearlong contract (subject to renewal based on performance).

You will need to have passion for media, strong strategic and innovative thinking skills in order to integrate into our growing, vibrant and passionate team who are always willing to go the extra mile.  We are looking for an intern eager to gain a ton of great media experience!

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in all aspects of admin and contribute to the media sale process;
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics
  • On the job training and learning of product feature offerings and benefits
  • Assist in the sale opportunity process such as entering contact opportunity information,  set up free trials request and assist in the trial follow up opportunity progress as set by Senior Account Manager
  • Assist in commercial internal processes such as the preparation of quotations, draft of order,  resolution on pending requests and quality issues, creation and  mock-up of proposals
  • Assist with providing pipeline reports, territory and account opportunity updates and forecasts through the use of Sales Force.
  • Assist with the sales operation communication channel flow as set by your manager
  • Assist with commercial sales Operational day to day
  • Assist with internal liaising with billing and credit control departments
  • Assist with business travel and expenses processing administration
  • Assist  in assessing the sales opportunities available internal and external such as  product trends and competitive research
  • Support and assist with managing general enquiries, telephonic or email.
  • Not limited to the above, duties will be adapted and redefined from time to time to align with the commercial business workflow.
  • Requirements and skills
  • Degree Majoring in Sales, Marketing or Advertising, Public Relations
  • Passionate about media and people
  • Willingness to learn and ability to listen
  • Confident Communicator, well presented and credible 
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, strong administration skills
  • Supportive of working in a team environment
  • Self -motivated, proactive with a 'can do' attitude
  • Be digitally savvy / innovative
  • Computer Proficiency Power Point, Word and Excel experience is a bonus
  • Proficient in English and other languages being a great asset
  • Time management and Deadline driven
  • Winning attitude!
