Marketing And Communication Internship Programme 2018

Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) is a newly established university providing holistic health sciences education, situated at Garankuwa. The following Internship Programme positions (12 months) are currently available:


MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION (5 POSTS)
12 Months Internship Programme
REF: 23/2018/JSM/INTERN

The incumbents will support marketing and communication department with daily operations
of the department and be trained to coordinate and manage various projects and programmes
in the university. The incumbents report to the Department of Marketing and Communications
and must meet the requirements and be responsible for the following key performance areas:

Requirements:
 A three (3) year post matric Diploma in Public Relations / Marketing / Journalism
 Sound knowledge of MS Office package (WORD, Excel & PowerPoint)
 Good interpersonal skills
 Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
 Ability to work in a team
 Ability to pay attention to detail
 Ability to multi-task
 Independent and proactive
 Quick learner and critical thinker
 Driver’s licence is an added advantage

Key performance Areas
 Support the marketing and communication team in daily operations
 Management of press and end-user surveys (internally and externally)
 Writing, image, photography and layout editing
 Support for ceremonial and Alumni events and exhibition planning and execution
 Administrative activities such as research, creation of reports and data analysis
 Coordination and execution of prize winners
 Communication with external partners
 Contribute to the overall development of SMU Website and radio station
 General administrative and secretarial tasks of the department

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WHO HAVE COMPLETED THEORETICAL PART OF THEIR QUALIFICATION AND REQUIRING WORK
INTEGRATED LEARNING (WIL) TO GRADUATE.
