Ola Internship Programme 2018

Internship as a production assistant in the film industry.


This 12-month programme calls for candidates who fulfil the following criteria:

Must be unemployed

Must have graduated recently (no longer than 12 months)
Must have a Degree or Diploma or National Certificate at NQF Level 5.
The qualification may not be in progress but already received
The qualification must be in a field related to Film, TV or Media
Be able to commute to the RANDBURG area of Johannesburg daily

The role will require an individual who will:
  • Work with a production team as an assistant performing a variety of different job related duties, primarily production based. 
  • This is not a role for individuals seeking to be actors or directors.
  • Have a basic understanding of Film and Media
  • Be comfortable on a computer in all areas of MS Office and possess a good telephone manner
  • Be comfortable working on weekends, public holidays and evenings
  • Be able to drive (preferable but not compulsory)
The candidate will receive a small salary commensurate with the grant received from the government. Your performance will be measured on a quarterly basis and every effort will be made to assist the successful candidates find employment after completion of the programme.

Internship as a director’s assistant in the film industry.

This 12-month programme calls for candidates who fulfil the following criteria:
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must have graduated recently (no longer than 12 months)
  • Must have a degree or diploma or National Certificate at NQF Level 5.
  • The qualification may not be in progress but already received
  • The qualification must be in a field related to Film, TV or Media
  • Be able to commute to the RANDBURG area of Johannesburg daily
The role will require an individual who will:
  • Work in a creative capacity as an assistant to a director. This conceptual role is very research based. It requires someone practical, creative and multi-dimensional with a good eye and exceptional ability to communicate and understand ideas. This is not a role for individuals seeking to be actors or producers
  • Have a basic understanding of film and media
  • Be comfortable on a computer in all areas of MS Office as well as presentation software
  • Be comfortable working on weekends, public holidays and evenings
  • Be able to drive (preferable but not compulsory)

Internship - accounting

This 12-month programme calls for candidates who fulfil the following criteria:

  • Must be unemployed
  • Must have graduated recently (no longer than 12 months)
  • Must have a Degree or Diploma or National Certificate at NQF Level 5.
  • The qualification may not be in progress but already received
  • The qualification must be in a field related Finance or Accounting
The role will require an individual who will:
  • Work with a small production team and the FD in all areas of the finance department including payroll, creditors, debtors; ultimately up to TB
  • Have a basic understanding of accounting and tax concepts
  • Be comfortable on a computer in all areas of MS Office. Experience of any accounting software a plus.
  • Be comfortable working occasionally long hours.
