IT Internship Programme at Pharma Dynmaics 2018

Pharma Dynamics is currently seeking an IT intern on a 1 yr fixed term contract who will be responsible for providing IT support to the company regarding telephony, printers, hardware and
Software. Liaises with managed services providers to ensure effective desktop, tablet, connectivity and minor server support.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Service providers

Desktop & server support
  • Responsible for liaison and support with allocated provider (currently First Technology) to ensure an effective managed services environment
  • Provide onsite support to First Technology as required
  • Liaise with managed services provider, First Technology, for country-wide support.
  • Provide relevant information and history to First Technology to enable them to service the site effectively
  • Monitor internal user satisfaction and provide feedback accordingly to IT manager
Tablet support
  • Responsible for liaison and support with allocated provider (currently Orange Street) to provide support to all sales reps nationally regarding their tablets
  • Monitor internal user satisfaction and provide feedback accordingly to IT manager
  • Telephony Support
  • Manage the Cape Town telephony system and the relationship with the third-party provider, CBX Technologies.
  • Liaise with CBX to set up and test new extensions as required
  • Implement the internal movement of extensions as required
  • Ensure that adequate disaster recovery is in place to enable the switchboard and all phones to function for at least three hours in the event of a power failure
  • Provide support to users in effectively utilising the telephony system
  • Ensure that adequate records are kept of extensions allocated to users and the relevant server ports
Printer Support
  • Oversee the effective functioning of the printers and liaise with third party providers to resolve problems timeously
  • Ensure that all users are enrolled on the relevant printers and can print and scan
  • Escalate any ongoing problems to IT manager for further action
  • IT Assets
  • Make recommendations on suitable hardware in line with business needs
  • Make recommendations about redundant equipment
  • Manage IT provisioning and supplies by taking and recording delivery, ensuring equipment is deployed or alternatively stored safely, and recording receipt to IT Administrator for record keeping on the IT asset register.
IT Administration / General
  • Manage meeting room infrastructure as far as projectors and telephony is concerned. Ensure that a functional, professional and neat set-up prevails in all meeting rooms.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate backups
  • Manage cabling requirements and oversee contractors in this regard
  • Manage the IT room, ensuring that it is fit for purpose and kept in an orderly state. Valuable equipment should be locked up if the room is left unattended.
  • Oversee the Server room and provide access and support to First Technology as required.
  • Test new hardware and / or software for business use
  • Provide technical advice and input to IT manager as required
  • Liaise with Lupin IT as required about licensing, global projects etc.
  • Perform any other duties that may be requested to do from time to time.
Pre-requisite: Relevant IT qualification / Diploma
