Junior HR Consultant Operations at Sappi 2018

Sappi Ngodwana seeks to employ a Junior HR Consultant Operations to partner with line management, providing an effective, value adding HR service to meet the demands of the organisation.


REPORTING TO the Human Resources Manager.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Market the HR department by being visible and available on the shop floor and promoting Sappi’s values and code of ethics.
  • Create organisational awareness by staying abreast of activities in the business unit and by networking with sister units.
  • Compile month-end reports with a qualitative summary of statistics for the departments.
  • Provide IR training and continuous on-the-job training and coaching of line managers and employees.
  • Conduct stay and exit interviews providing qualitative reports to line management and HR and dealing with resultant issues.
  • Initiate succession planning and career paths aligned with business unit requirements.
  • Coordinate performance assessment process and compile qualitative reports.
  • Conduct on-boarding and unit orientation for new employees and continuously benchmark and enhance induction programs.
  • Comply with HR legislation including internships, Workplace Skills Plan and EE plans.
  • Ensure effective recruitment and selection in conjunction with other departments and per business processes and plans.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
  • NQF 6 - Human Resources qualification.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience within a manufacturing, unionised environment.
  • Computer literate, SAP HR.
