Strategy & Operations Intern at Swiss Re 2018

We offer a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate with an exceptional academic record in our Swiss Re EMEA Strategy & Operations function based in Cape Town.

This role will allow you to work in a high performing Strategy & Operations MEA Team and to learn strategy analysis and business operations practices.

Specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • Working with the Sales Leader Support (Market Coordinators) to coordinate the sales efforts
  • Doing market analysis for the MEA region (e.g. competitor analysis, insurance sector analysis, economic developments etc.)
  • Supporting the organisation of client events and training
  • Supporting the production of client marketing material
  • Providing project management support

About the team

You will work closely with the Strategy & Operations MEA team and the MEA Client Markets teams, both located in Cape Town and Zurich. Strategy & Operations EMEA is made up of business coordinators, strategy analysts, marketing experts, event organisers, project managers, market coordinators and operational officers. We work hand-in-hand with the client market teams to keep the machine running, enabling the best client service and driving the definition and implementation of market strategies.



About You
  • Minimum, Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or similar
  • No more than 1-2 years' work experience
  • Strong administration skills (including PowerPoint and Excel skills)
  • Problem solving ability
  • Openness to working in a multi-cultural and international environment
  • Great attention to detail and analytical acumen
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Accountable individual
  • Strong customer focus with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates
