Journalism Internship Opportunity at W24 2018

W24 is looking for a young and dynamic intern with a keen interest in women issues to join their Johannesburg based team. The successful candidate will be working with a small, dedicated editorial team to create lifestyle content for South African women.

A degree in journalism, English or creative writing is required. The successful candidate is further required to have blogging and or writing experience. is a leading African network of popular digital publishing brands and online services across internet, mobile, applications, job listings and interactive TV.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Coming up with story ideas, writing and editing articles;
  • Loading and editing articles into the content management system;
  • Researching stories and trends both online and IRL. Phone sources, investigate practices and do interviews;
  • Sourcing and resizing images (experience in Photoshop is a huge advantage!);
  • Shooting and editing video.
Qualifications and Skills

  • Writing experience (published pieces and/or personal blog);
  • Familiar with the W24 editorial voice and aesthetic;
  • Able to write engaging and catchy headlines and blurbs - Interest and knowledge of the various editorial pillars;
  • Excellent command of the English language;
  • Good subbing and editing skills;
  • Understanding of the online environment;
  • Meticulous editor, perfectionist, obsessive attention to detail, maddened by typos and broken links, delighted by finding and fixing them;
  • Excellent communication skills with a can-do attitude;
  • Interested in and engaged with social media – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube and Pinterest; Own, unique voice, strong opinions, willingness to explore new things - Sense of humour;
  • Degree or diploma in journalism, English or creative writing;
  • Blogging and or writing experience;
  • Able to work Monday to Friday.

Multimedia Journalist Internship at YOU 2018

YOU has an eight-month internship in its Cape Town office for a digitally savvy journalist with a special interest in video production as part of the Media24 Graduate Programme.

ICT Internship at Robben Island Museum 2018

We have an ICT Internship position is available in the Finance Department at Robben Island Museum. The main objective of this internship is to provide work experience exposure in ICT for the qualified graduate in Information Technology or Computer Systems.

Robben Island Museum is a public entity responsible for managing, maintaining, presenting, developing and marketing Robben Island as a World Heritage Site.

The Robben Island Museum Tour has a dedicated Education Department. Among its many activities is the facilitation of subsidised school tours. These tours are from Monday to Friday during the concession period (2 May to 31 October), but can change at the discretion of management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists staff with installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computer, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines;
• Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software;
• Assist ICT RIM helpdesk and Network Operations staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from users;
• Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, and administrative systems;
• Assist user with printing support and telephones incidents;
• Assist with the incident management at the ICT Helpdesk;
• Assist in maintaining LAN/WAN records and, as appropriate, telephone systems cable;
• Assist in management of RIM ICT assets and administration

 Job Requirements: 

• Diploma/ degree in Information Technology or Computer Systems/ Science;
• Grade 12 or Matric;

Pharmacist Assistant Learnership at Clicks 2018
