Brand Marketing & Communications Internship at Rhino Africa 2018

Since all great things come in threes - like Destiny's Child or a choc-nut sundae - Rhino Africa’s first of its kind Brand Marketing & Communications Internship is like the ultimate frozen dessert of internship programmes.

We're on the lookout for a jack of all trades - an all-rounder and triple threat creative who can inspire the job market through written content creation, digital marketing and even some multimedia design and photography. Promoting Rhino Africa as a place to work, the Brand Marketing & Communications Internship is all about enhancing our employer brand. Beginning with an intensive 4-week training program coordinated by Rhino Africa's award-winning in-house marketing agency, your responsibilities would include, but would not be limited to:
  • Building Rhino Africa's employer brand via campaigns and multimedia communication strategies aimed at marketing Rhino Africa as a place to work
  • Attending university events, organizing in-house networking events and forming lasting relationships with international and local tertiary institutions as well as businesses and recruitment agencies
  • Managing Rhino Africa's LinkedIn and assisting with B2B marketing strategies
  • Writing content, capturing pictures and creating designs for ad hoc assignments, advertising initiatives, up-and-coming projects and current brand marketing features, like the 'Spotlight On' series
  • Assisting in the development of Rhino Africa's flagship HR News - announcing new starters, leavers and exciting company events/celebrations
  • Contributing to Rhino Africa's first-of-its-kind recruitment blog - offering candidates advice on best practices, CV tips & 'How to become a Rhino African'
  • Playing a pivotal role in the development of Rhino Africa’s first ever graduate programme
  • Arranging recruitment best practice workshops for hiring managers and recruiting teams
  • Conducting research to gain insight on the latest trends in titles, salaries and talent acquisition

CAPE TOWN: Carry out your craft in gorgeous offices located in the heart of Cape Town, the world's most beautiful city. Pristine beaches and world-famous hikes are just 15 minutes away from our HQ, so be sure to pack your bathing suit and hiking boots!
COMPENSATION: To ensure we attract only the best of the best, we offer each intern a stipend of R5,000 per month, along with a monthly voucher, worth R250, to use at our in-house Rhino Cafe.
THE RHINO CAFE: Rhino Africa is proud to have our own in-house Cafe, which rivals any foodie spot on the streets of Europe! Interns receive monthly vouchers to enjoy hearty meals, delicious coffees and sweet treats from our own master chefs and expert baristas. The Cafe is a place to mingle and relax with your colleagues, and even learn some foreign slang.
THE TRACKER PROGRAM: At Rhino Africa you’re not just another lost animal in the wild! We assign each new intern a ‘tracker’ to guide them through the jungle, introduce them to their fellow Rhinos and our unique family culture.

Requirements. You will need to:
  • Hold a degree in a field of Marketing, Human Resources, Psychology or a related discipline suitable for this multi-functional role
  • Have some experience with content creation, digital marketing and SEO, and ideally even design & photography
  • Boast strong computer literacy and working experience with the Google Suite (especially Google Sheets/Docs)
  • Possess the gift of the gab - as Rhino Africa's 'brand ambassador' excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must!
  • Be a team player who is not afraid to pass the ball - collaboration is one of our core value
Advantageous, but not required would be:
  • Knowledge/experience and understanding of Social Media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Interest or experience in Google Analytics and data analysis
  • Experience with SEO strategies and their implementation and execution
  • Experience with Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator
  • The ability to shoot, process and edit images
