HFHI Internship Opportunity 2018

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. The purpose and goal of Habitat for Humanity International is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Habitat for Humanity seeks an Advocacy Intern to be based in Pretoria.

  • Desk research on land, housing and property rights
  • Desk research on African Union institutions, policies and programmes on land and housing
  • Desk research on the international development agenda and data collection
  • Support Advocacy Specialist as an assistant in:
  • Prepare grant proposals
  • Arrange conferences, meetings and minute taking
  • Update database of advocacy stakeholders
  • Draft official correspondence with business partners
  • University student, bachelor degree or studying towards a Master’s degree
  • Openness to learn
  • Command of English
  • Analytical ability
  • Willingness to do administrative work
  • Interest in housing/land issues/advocacy/legal and economic issues/grants
