ICT Graduate at FIC 2018

The purpose of the Graduate Development Programme is to assist the incumbent to develop an understanding, practical skills and competencies required in the Information and Communication Technology disciplines.

Key Performance areas include:

During the two year programme the graduate will gain experience and be introduced to the various sections within the ICT business unit in order to gain practical experience in all the business areas covering aspects of ICT security, Service Desk, ICT Operations, ICT Development and ICT Testing.

Technical Duties:
  • Assist with planning and implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data
  • Monitoring and daily checks
  • Reporting
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance
  • Reporting
  • Test execution
  • Defect Management
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Respond to queries either in person or over the phone.
  • Ensure performance, integrity and security of a database.
  • Involved in the planning and development of the database
Education, Skills and Experience
  • A matric or NQF level 4 equivalent is essential
  • National Diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent is essential
  • 0 – 1 working experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio is preferred
