Marketing Internship at Citizen 2018

This position is the perfect opportunity for a young and vibrant person looking to kick-start a career in marketing.

The ideal candidate will report directly to the marketing manager.

Key responsibilities

The role will include but is not limited to the following:
  • Assist in implementin for new and existing products with a focus on Phakaaathi (print and online soccer publication)
  • Source prizes and manage competitions for giveaways based on marketing plans (including subscriber competitions)
  • Create PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets and Word documents for internal and external use
  • Manage the marketing database, develop reports and identify insights based on the database
  • Assist in the organisation and execution of internal and external promotions and events
  • Assist with conducting competitive marketing analyses
  • Perform office administration duties
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers
  • Create and update social media posts for marketing purposes
  • Work beyond the standard office working hours when required

  • B Com degree or degree with marketing major or IMM or three-year marketing diploma
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A self-starter with good organisational skills and time management
  • Must be computer literate: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook Express
  • A comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of social media platforms
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress will be an advantage (not essential)
  • Promotions and events experience will be an advantage (not essential)
  • Administrative skills
  • Presentable and reliable
  • Able to function in an office environment, contribute ideas and work in a team
  • Able to work accurately and have a keen eye for detail
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle if required
  • Previous marketing experience will be an advantage (not essential)
