Melkbosstrand Private School Internship Opportunity 2018

We are looking for a candidate who is flexible, hardworking and passionate about teaching and would like to work with a team of supportive teachers. Someone who would like to inspire, challenge and motivate learners.

Melkbosstrand Private School is a Christian school situated in the beautiful country side of Melkbosstrand, Cape Town, accommodating 450 learners from 18 months to Grade 12.

We are a proudly-South African co-educational parallel-medium school.

An exceptional Intermediate Phase English teacher with a real passion for teaching Grade 4

At Melkbosstrand Private School we offer our students a world-class, balanced education which focuses on Bible education, academic, physical, cultural, musical and the emotional development of each student in an attractive and inviting pastoral country environment.

The ideal candidate for the position should:

  • Be flexible and willing to adhere to the unique ethos, vision and mission of Melkbosstrand Private School
  • Previous teaching experience in English (E) will be an advantage
  • Offer pastoral care and be prepared to facilitate a register class
  • Be self-motivated, driven, responsible, focused and independent
  • Understand that the requirements of the job are rigorous and there is a high expectation of performance.
  • Have a positive and flexible personality
  • Be computer literate as administrative duties will form an integral part of his/her duties.
  • Be able to take initiative in various situations
  • Be able to keep an orderly and organised learning environment, both outdoors and indoors
  • Have good social and observational skills and be a team player.
  • Exercise integrity and discretion
  • A 4 Year B.Ed degree and/or HED (Higher Education Diploma) from a recognised Institution specializing in the Intermediate Phase with English Home Language (E)
  • Have his/her own vehicle
  • Clearance certificates required:
  • SAPS – Criminal clearance
  • Dept of Social services – Child Protection register clearance
  • Dept of Justice – Sexual Offenders register clearance
  • Level 1 First Aid certificate
  • Applicants should be able to commence duty on 14 January 2019.

Interviews: Week commencing 12 November 2018

The invitation for an interview and appointment of candidates is at the sole discretion of Melkbosstrand Private School.
