5x Laboratory Trainees at GSK 2019

Job Requirements:
1.1 Tests compliance of products (including routine Stability products) and materials as per documented Specifications and Analytical Methods.
1.2 Performs analysis using wet chemical techniques and instrumental methods of analysis (HPLC, GC) as applicable.
1.3 Ensures that applicable SOPs are followed and required records are completed.
1.4 Examines samples critically.
1.5 Records results as per GLP requirements.
1.6 Reviews results for accuracy and reports any anomalies to Supervisor or Manager.
1.7 Samples and test compliance of Site systems (Purified water etc.) as per documented procedures.
1.8 Ensures cleanliness of working and surrounding area.
1.9 Ensures that documentation is performed in the demarcated areas and that chemical analysis is performed on the workbenches.
1.10  Ensures preparation and storage of reagents as per SOPs.
1.11 Ensures that SOPs in use are current and notifies the Manager of any out-of-date procedures.
1.12 Verifies the calibration status of equipment as required by the Manager.
1.13 Completes appropriate equipment logs after usage, verification and maintenance.
1.14 Performs system monitoring (eg. Fridge temperatures, fume cupboard pressures) and completion of appropriate logs as required by the Manager.
1.15 Complies with EHS standards and guidelines and Site EHS SOPs.
1.16 Complies with SOPs wrt safe use of chemicals/reagents, glassware, analytical procedures and the use of PPE.
1.17 Participates in, projects to continually improve processes.
1.18 Participates in Manufacturing Technology projects eg. NIR.


  • Matric
  • Theory in National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (minimum).
  • Proficiency in use of wet chemical and instrumental analytical techniques
