AON Internship Opportunity 2019

Aon South Africa has an exciting opportunity for a Internship at our offices in Durban for a insurance position. The successful incumbent will be responsible for assisting in producing and/ or providing quality checks in respect of documentation and transactional activities required supporting the placement of business.

Key Responsibilities
  • To support to more experienced Client Managers with administrative tasks and gets involved in less complex client facing tasks (renewals, declarations, presentations, confirmations). 
  • Secondary point of contact for clients providing services and resolving queries, and primary contact for own clients.
  • Assists in the day to day running of clients’ risk and insurance programmes, producing documentation and checking policies and cover where required ensuring the insurance programme keeps up with the needs of the client.
  • Contributes to all client planning meetings and attends and contributes to internal and external client meetings
  • Provides clients with renewal notices and reminders.
  • Facilitate renewal process and prepares renewal quotes and closing instructions for clients.
  • Facilitate and communicates with both broking centre and specialist divisions on client requirements at renewal and during insurance period. Can identify appropriate channels for risk placement based on clients' market security guidelines and other requirements and ensuring utilization of SPS’s.

  • Maintains management information e.g. by inputting into relevant databases (ensure ECM filing and update of renewals on SalesForce)
  • Responsible for invoicing and credit control (utilizing Pearl system).
  • Liaises with the outsource supplier to pass on appropriate work and ensure standards are met (where outsource partner exists)
  • Generate new business and referrals
  • Responds promptly and efficiently to instructions, requests and enquiries at all times
  • Prioritises own work and works autonomously within defined boundaries
  • Works under close supervision of more senior Client Facing Brokers
  • Submitting contract documentation to clients and making necessary follow ups on Appropriate record keeping.
  • Assisting in tender processes for potential new clients 
  • Producing final reinsurance documentation to confirm coverage to clients.
  • Drafting renewal proposals.
  • Reviewing and checking reinsurance documentation to ensure that it satisfies client requirements and other standards (e.g. regulatory).

Minimum Requirements
  • Bcom Risk Management, Economics Or similar
  • Be articulate and have good communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to commit to excellent client service.
  • Have advanced MS Office experience, especially MS Excel.
  • Have a high work ethic and have the ability to work under pressure.
  • Be analytical and demonstrate problem solving abilities.
  • Pay attention to detail.
  • Be proactive and take own initiative.
  • Be a team player.
