Save the Children South Africa HR Internship Opportunity 2019

Save the Children South Africa has an HR Internship Opportunity 2019. The purpose of this role is to provide HR support to the HR director and the organization.

Child Protection Level 3: The role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.


HR administration

  • Prepare files for the new employees
  • Update and maintain employee files
  • Ensure uniformity with all employee files
  • Assist the HR Director in preparing the Letters and Contracts of Employment

Induction & On-boarding

  • Prepare files for the new employee
  • Assist new employees to populate the generic on-boarding documents
  • Ensure that the new policies are in the files
  • Setup and coordinate inductions
  • New staff welcome emails

  • Sent out internal and external adverts
  • Assist managers in setting up and communicating interview dates
  • Assist HR Director in sending out letters of offer and rejection letters
Performance Management

  • Coordinates the annual review and prepare a report
  • File the reviews accordingly

N:B The employee will be required and expected to execute any lawful instruction given by the line manager or delegated person.

  • HR Diploma or Degree communications.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office ( Word, Powerpoint, Exel)
