Barloworld Equipment Human Capital Internship 2019

Barloworld Equipment has a Human Capital Internship for a recent graduate at their offices in Waterfall, KwaZulu-Natal.


  • Ensuring that all key Human Resources Operational Processes are delivered successfully to the business including pay run input, recruitment and all other cyclical activity.
  • Coaching line managers in the management of employee performance concerns, ensuring that such issues are dealt with promptly, effectively and in line with legal standards.
  • Interpreting, advising on, and ensuring compliance with relevant Human Resources policies, ethical and legal requirements.
  • Assisting line managers in the management of employee disciplinary matters.
  • Educating and coaching employees and line managers in relation to new and existing Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to the review and update of Human Resources policies and procedures in consultation with employees and line managers.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with line managers and employees.
  • Assisting line managers with job design and analysis (including job evaluation where required).
  • Assisting line managers to develop and achieve individual and team development plans.
  • Assisting line managers to develop appropriate performance goals and measures.
  • Coaching line managers on employees’ attraction and retention matters.
  • Ensuring that change initiatives meet legal and ethical standards and maintain a positive organisational culture.
  • Ensuring that Human Resources projects are delivered effectively and efficiently within the required time frame in area of responsibility.


  • B-degree / B-Tech in Psychology and / or Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Two to four years’ experience in a Human Resources generalist role.
  • Verbal Communication and Written communication
  • Ms Office Proficient, especially MS Excel.
  • Customer Responsiveness
  • Organisational Awareness and Anticipating and Managing Change
  • EQ and Interpersonal Sensitivity
