11 X Ethekwini Municipality Internship Programme 2019

EThekwini Municipality is offering Work Experience and Internship opportunities for the 2019/2020 financial year in various fields.



Applications are invited from candidates who have completed or pursuing a qualification on a National Certificate; 3 year National Diploma/Bachelor’s degree; B.Tech/ Postgraduate diploma/ Honours degree/ Masters degree in the following study fields:

1. Finance and Economics Internship 
Degree: Accounting, Financial Management, Economics, Insurance

2. Administration Internship
Degree: Office Management and Technology, Public Administration, Public Management

3. Agriculture, Natural Sciences, Environmental Studies Internship 
Degree: Environmental Science, Horticulture, Nature Conservation, Agriculture, Environmental Management, Waste Management, Agriculture extension, Natural Science, Ecological Sciences, Geographical Information Science, Archaeology, Geography/Arc GIS competency

4. Life Science Internship
Degree: Microbiology, Analytical Chemistry, Biotech/ Biomedical Technology

5. Engineering and Built Environment Internship
Degree: Electrical Eng, Auto Electrician, Mechanical Eng., Chemical Eng., Civil Eng., Process Instrumentation, Building and Quantity Surveying; Town Planning

6. Managements Sciences Internship
Degree: Human Resources, Operations Management, Events/ Hospitality/ Catering/ Culinary, Food & Beverage, Information Technology, Marketing & Digital Marketing , Public Relations, Logistics management, Supply Chain Management, Tourism , Industrial Psychology, Quality Management, Sport Management, Leisure Science, Operations Management

7. Health Sciences Internship

8. Law Internship

9. Art and Design Internship
Degree: Graphic Design, Video Technology, Photography, Language practice, Dramatic Arts, Film and TV Production Architectural 

10. Humanities Internship
Degree: Social Work, Social Science, Archaeology, Community development, Development studies, Political Science, International Relations, Psychology, Public policy, Training and Development

11. Risk Management Internship
Degree: Project Risk Management, Risk Management, Project Management, Safety Management

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS:

The work experience learners will receive a monthly stipend between R1937.94 – R5, 892.42 depending on the level of the qualification. 
  • People who have already participated / benefited on a similar programme in government or private sector for a period of 12 months and above will not be considered.
  • Applicants must be in possession of a recognised qualification(s);
  • Applicants must be South African citizens;
