Mazars IT internship Programme 2019

Mazars Port Elizabeth is looking for an IT intern to assist in the IT department. This is a great opportunity for a new graduate to gain some valuable experience. This will be a learning position so candidates are not expected to have any prior experience in the IT field. Mazars Port Elizabeth consist of 6 partners and an overall staff compliment of +100 employees. For this reason the intern will be expected to be a self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and without constant supervision.

Intern would be expected to assist with general IT support services, IT administration and general day-to-day adhoc duties that may arise. Intern will also be expected that the intern assist staff members with general IT issues and queries that may arise and on occasion assist with IT inductions of new staff members. Intern will also be expected to assist with setting up venues for meetings and training (e.g. moving around chairs and tables, making sure that projectors and computers are set up).

This is a 1 year contract with the potential of being extended based on candidate’s performance.
Mazars a leading international audit, tax and advisory services firm. We are an international firm with 12 offices in total in South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist with the administration for the IT section involving:
- collating order forms and invoices for equipment and consumables for payment
- undergoing investigative research into suitable programs for MMR requirements
- providing relevant information from the IT department
- preparing reports and statistical information
• Attend to the needs of the users/departments to resolve desktop and printer queries.
• Install new personal computers, printers, Ethernet cards, software packages, upgrades of memory, and hard drive systems
• Prescribe methods to enhance the computer equipment usage of the various departments in order to improve their workflow.
• Liaise with Manager and/or Partner on addressing IT problems or related administration problems.
• Maintain the database using Microsoft Access
• Maintain the internal intranet using HTML Coding and Access
• Assist with the preparation of annual IT budget and the monitoring of the budget during the year to restrict/minimise overruns.
• Liaise with service providers regarding equipment and software requirements.
• Organising and attending to the overall running of the training room facility
• Attend to the cell phone administration
• Assist with new staff IT inductions

Minimum Requirements
  • Relevant National Diploma or Bachelors Degree
  • Prior experience advantageous (not a requirement)
