Tsebo Solutions Group Graduate Opportunity 2020

Tsebo Solutions Group is currently looking for a Data Engineer Graduate to assist in developing, constructing, testing and maintaining a database architecture that is used by an analytics project team.



The preferred candidate will need to implement ways to improve the reliability, efficiency and quality of data collected from various sources. Also ensure that the architecture that is in place supports the requirements of the Business Analyst and other stakeholders in the business.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Develop data set processes for data modelling, mining and production
• Employ a variety of languages and tools to marry systems together
• Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
• Deal with raw data collection, extraction
• Experience manipulating data using either SQL, R, Python (or other languages)
• Demonstrate the ability to translate business questions into technical solutions, and communicate analytical results to broad audiences
• Have a passion for collaborating with cross-functional team members, like engineers, finance managers, human resource managers, operations managers and other analysts



Skills and Competencies
• ETL Toolset: SSIS
• Languages: R, Python, C#, JAVA
• BI Toolset: Qlikview, SSRS, PowerBi
• Database platforms: SQL Server
• Technical skills:
o Data cleaning
o Strong analytical & troubleshooting abilities
o Experience creating reports using PowerBi or Qlik
o Basic network & IT infrastructure environment knowledge
o Any sort of ETL or Data Warehousing knowledge
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills
• Data engineering skills

Qualifications
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, BSC. Informatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or similar advantageous
• 0 – 2 Years in related field
