Pick n Pay Trainee Manager Programme 2020

Pick n Pay has an exciting opportunity for great talent to join the Trainee Manager Programme. We seek to recruit vibrant, energetic and charismatic individuals with a passion for retail and service. You could be a fresh graduate, a seasoned retail professional or someone looking for a career change. Successful applicants will report to the Western Cape Region.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure that hygiene, housekeeping & safe working standards are maintained (floor & back-up) Ensure that security procedures are adhered to 
  • Ensure that merchandise/display standards are adhered to Conduct regular quality checks, ensure that stock is rotated. 
  • Damaged/expired stock is removed Prevent wastage/shrinkage/damages 
  • Check correct pricing eg labels Ensure that all administration is completed accurately and timeously 
  • Analyse, maintain & update relevant information/documentation, take required action when necessary 
  • Plan and implement sales promotions 
  • Approach & advise customers on the product, listen to customers requests, provide the required product or service and handle customers in a courteous and businesslike manner 
  • Monitor budgets (turnover, expenses, gross) & take required action 
  • Optimise stock levels eg, always in stock, never overstocked through effective ordering and efficient handling of returns. 
  • Communicate effectively with employees, management, customers and suppliers 
  • Manage employees to ensure standards are maintained by competent, motivated employees

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 – Tertiary qualification is advantages 
  • Must be able to pass the Trainee Numeracy Screening Test at the required level 
  • Must be flexible and be willing to be transferred between stores in the Western Cape 
  • Must have a valid Drivers Licence 
  • Must have access to own transport or reliable transport 
  • Must have a valid SA ID

Additional Information

  • The position is based in the Western Cape Region and will be reporting to the Store Manager.
