    Department/ School
    CA Connect has been involved in offering SAICA-accredited CTA programmes since 2010. In 2018, CA Connect merged with Milpark Education and now constitutes Milpark’s Department of Professional 

    In 2019, we launched the first fully online SAICA-accredited CTA and Bridging programme in South Africa.

    The Positions 
    Our programmes are growing, and we are looking for academic trainees in each of our 4 core disciplines, namely: 
    •Financial Reporting, 
    •Management Accounting & Finance, 
    •Taxation, and 
    •Corporate Governance & Auditing.

    Requirements to Apply

    •A completed CTA and eligibility to write SAICA’s ITC or expected CTA completion in 2020. 
    •A signed 3-year SAICA training contract that starts in 2021. (Ideally also a discussion with the firm where you are signed that they would be willing to release you from Year 1 of your training contract.)
    •A track record of above average academic performance.
    •If you did not complete, Milpark’s CTA, a recommendation from the head of department (or equivalent) of the university at which your CTA was completed.
    •Demonstrable ethical behaviour.

    Key Selection Criteria

    •Emotional intelligence with an aptitude and desire to build colleague and student relationships though compassion and genuine care.
    •An industrious, innovative and gregarious attitude with the ability to learn and solve problems.
    •A strong ability to collaborate in a team with excellent communication skills.
    •Developed IT competence with the propensity to build relationships (in person and remotely).
    •Relevant lecturing experience (usually as a tutor).
    •Propensity for academic innovation and leadership.
    •An interest in further study / academic research.
    •A track record of being able to work independently on an outcomes basis and complete tasks without close supervision.

    •To work outside the office: 
    oA reliable home internet connection.
    oA suitable working environment.

    Each position sits within the Department of Professional Accounting and will join the existing subject teams. 
    Each team is responsible for delivering and supporting all aspects of the discipline in the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA / CTA) and Bridging programmes. 
    The role includes material development; video recording; facilitation of individual and group live online sessions with students; written and online student support; assessment setting; marking and self-development through study / research and community involvement.
    Appointments will be on a contract basis, starting on near the beginning of 2021 (likely 1 February 2021) and ending on 31 December 2021. 

    Salary will be market-related.

    Staff will be based primarily at Milpark’s head office in Claremont, Cape Town. There will be scope for flexible working arrangements if staff have a suitable working environment and reliable internet access.
