Keyrus IT Support Assistant Graduate Opportunity 2020

Keyrus has an IT Support Assistant Graduate Opportunity who will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of computer systems and other technologies. Primary focus may be in the areas of computer operations, user and desktop support (hardware and software), helpdesk, and data management. Performs a variety of information technology support duties to ensure smooth delivery of technology services to the business. 


  • Sets up and configures desktop computers, peripherals such as printers or routers.
  • Sets up email accounts assigning security level.
  • Provides basic troubleshooting, repair and maintenance for computer equipment (e.g. microcomputers, disk drives, and laser printers) and may assist with testing personal computers and peripherals on a network, to diagnose hardware versus software problems.
  • Diagnoses problems, implements corrective action procedures within prescribed guidelines and/or escalates to other technical resources as appropriate.
  • Maintains PC, network and other equipment.
  • Providing day-to-day support for computer network users.
  • Responsible for logging helpdesk support with Keyrus Belgium.
  • Setting up and maintaining user profiles, for starters and leavers.
  • Designs and produces basic reports.
  • Management of the IT inventory register – record maintenance.
  • Setup and maintenance of desk setup, networking, Wifi, cabling and power.

Skill Requirements

  • Drive to run their own division semi-autonomously
  • Computer literate
  • Proactive and accurate – attention to detail – quality is not negotiable
  • Ability to be creative and think laterally
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and time management skills, ability to work across various projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

​Minimum Requirements

  • Matric
  • Degree / Diploma in Information Systems, Business or Computer Sciences or equivalent qualification 
  • 6 - 12 months experience with Helpdesk Support
  • 6 - 12 months experience with PC and Networking setup
Location: Durban
