PathCare Academy Phlebotomy Learnership Programme 2020

Description: The PathCare Academy invites graduates to apply for the Phlebotomy Learnership programme commencing in 2021.

The graduates must possess a well-developed work ethic and who are responsive to customer needs. 

Candidates are to carefully note the specific requirements for this programme and ensure that they meet the matric subject and grade requirements. This is a learnership programme suitable for applicants between 18 and 35 years of age.


Specific requirements: 

Grade 12 pass with Life Science/Biology ≥50% AND Math Literacy ≥60% OR Mathematics ≥40%.

  • Read, write and speak English fluently
  • Read, write and understand basic Afrikaans
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to work under pressure and study rigorously
  • Possess a well developed work ethic
  • Willing to collect and/or process blood and body products
  • Ability to provide excellent service and be responsive to customer needs
  • Willingness to work shifts and after hours as required.

Theoretical training (8 months) will take place at the PathCare Academy in Cape Town or in Pretoria (students will be allocated according to seats available), and practical training will take place at a number of PathCare centres across South Africa
