 Location: Johannesburg Gauteng 

Remuneration: R5000,00 per month over the period of 12 months.

About TEACH South Africa 

TEACH South Africa is a Non-Profit Organisation led by the South African business community. In an effort to address the educational achievement gap that persists in the country, TEACH South Africa decided to be part of the solution by placing highly skilled and motivated recent university graduates in the classroom. 

Through our intensive training and support, we equip non education graduates with what is needed to be a successful educator. TEACH Ambassadors are placed at disadvantaged schools to teach for a period of two years. 

TEACH South Africa operates through strong collaboration with key partners including corporates, government at national, provincial and district levels, NGOs and similar initiatives. 

Requirements 

• Review the book-keeping on an ongoing basis to keep the records accurate and up-to-date. 

• Review monthly bank reconciliations and ensuring balances reflect split between unrestricted and restricted funds.  

• Check any necessary accruals and prepayments. 

• Review the balance sheet for unreconciled/unexpected balances. 

• Review cash flow requirements by project. 

• Prepare/review draft management accounts and preparing a commentary. 

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations. 

• Ensure appropriate tax receipts are issued to donors where necessary. 

• Help to prepare project budgets and forecasts. 

• Pull together the annual organisational budget and forecasts. 

• Prepare draft statutory accounts for year-end and liaising with the auditors. 

• Ensure there are strong financial controls in place. 

Skills and Competencies 

• Prepare monthly statements by collecting data; analysing and summarizing Statements. 

• Knowledge of Sage Accounting Software.  

• General ledger processing and reconciliations. 

• Accurate Processing of financial transactions into various financial systems. 

• Preparing invoices for creditors. 

• Good communicate skills. 

• Responds to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data.

• Prepare companies financial cash-ftow and projected budget for the year. 

• Participate in payroll processes, prepare payroll updates and filling. 

• Summarize company's payroll register and SARS statements. 

Desired Qualifications: B Com in Financial Accounting.
