Description: BDO invites you to apply for a Assistant Audit &
Review Consultants Internship where you will learn to perform accounting, and
at times, payroll work for clients, under supervision.
The Assistant Audit & Review Consultants will work as part of a dedicated
team and will be required to complete daily reviewing of Annual Financial
Statements.
The Assistant Audit & Review Consultants will also be responsible for
testing the transactions processed in the clients accounting records to ensure
transactions are valid, accurate and complete and provide feedback to the
client for any recommended changes required and further indicate if any
additional adjustments are required based on the findings from the testing
performed.
This 1-year YES program Initiative was launched by President Cyril Ramaphosa
in 2018 to combat youth unemployment in South Africa.
YES stands for Youth Unemployment Service, and the goal of the initiative is
to create one million new jobs and job opportunities over the next three
years, in urban areas, peri-urban areas and rural areas throughout the
country.
Through facilitating youth employment and YES Community Hubs, the YES
initiative aims to combat high youth unemployment, upskill workers, make South
Africa more attractive to investors, and boost the South African economy.
Principle Outcomes of the program: Ending unemployment, and then improving the
work-readiness of youth who sign up by providing them with training and
development opportunities.

Key Performance Areas:
- •Review of accounting records to ensure whether transactions are valid and accurate.
- •Review of Financial statements to ensure disclosure performed is accurate and all disclosure that has been included in the accounts is appropriate and relevant.
- •Agree transactions identified in the accounting records to the related supporting invoices.
- •Agree payments and receipts to related bank statements.
- •Confirm that all routine expenditure has been accounted for in the accounts and included in the correct financial period
- •Performance of Analytical Review Procedures such as variance analysis and investigations for any changes in current year cost to that of prior year and what was budgeted for.
Required Qualification:
- •National Senior Certificate which includes competence in Accounting
- •Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Internal Auditing
