Description: ELCB is inviting graduates to apply for the Developer Internship 2021.

The primary role of an Developer Intern is to aid other Developers with their day to day development work. 

The expectation, in terms of up-front work experience is nil, and in many cases, could be purely based on the projects that they worked on during their studies. 

It is expected that an Developer Intern adopts an attitude of continuous improvement through the tasks that they have been assigned, the training they receive, as well as improvement through self-study.

Developer Intern work under the supervision of their Direct Manager as well as the Mentor(s) that they have been assigned to work with.

Specification

Perform programming and related tasks, which include

  • Planning & Estimations
  • Writing code
  • Debugging errors
  • Testing
  • Technical Investigations
  • Write technical documentation
  • Provide development support to Mid and Senior Developers
  • Compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Continuous Improvement of:

  • Skills and Ability
  • Work Throughput
  • Communication
  • Return Rate (Target Less than 10%)
  • Estimations
  • Always be Accountable for what you do and work on

Requirements

Skills Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science / Degree or Diploma in Information Systems
  • Microsoft Certifications Advantageous
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Teamwork

Time management skills

  • Organization: Maintain a clear picture of what you need to complete and when
  • Prioritization: Prioritize tasks with accordance to deadlines
  • Goal Setting: Set targets and goals during planning and development to achieve
  • Planning: Commit to design spec and the time allocations agreed upon
  • Innovative thinking

Good communication skills

  • Candidate to communicate with mentor ahead of time in any delays or issues experience during development.
  • Good writing, speaking skills
  • Professional email etiquette is a must.
  • Able to communicate openly and honestly with team members during progress report meetings .
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • OOP understanding
