GVI is looking for an intern to join the marketing team. To thrive in the Outreach Team, you need to be a team player who enjoys a fun but fast-paced environment. Our work ranges from communication with GVI ambassadors to virtual/physical events, to researching innovative ways to increase GVI’s brand awareness. The Outreach Intern will join the team to help out with some important admin-related tasks and to help support the Outreach Team (and the greater Marketing Team).

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Outreach Managers and gain valuable experience using tools like SalesForce, Survey Monkey, Trello, MailChimp, Flickr, as well as online careers portals. Many of the tasks involved with this role will be admin-related. However, you will also have the opportunity to research and book events at schools and universities, create content for newsletters and Facebook groups, get involved in brainstorms, social listening activities, basic media and PR requests, and more.

What you will do 

  • Updating accounts and reports on SalesForce
  • Building and tidying up email lists
  • Uploading reviews/testimonials to the website
  • Finding, researching and booking new events to attend
  • Uploading content to Google Drive
  • Contributing to the social media content calendar
  • Supporting Outreach Managers on ad hoc projects that will support our team objectives
  • Advertising volunteering and internship opportunities on online careers portals
  • Uploading and managing leads
  • Engaging with relevant groups on social media
  • Occasional event administration and travel logistics for staff attending events
  • Supporting with drafting, editing, creating, and publishing marketing emails 

What you will need 


  • High school graduate
  • Interest in volunteering/travelling/sustainable development
  • An interest or experience in marketing or PR
  • Advantageous

  • Fast learner
  • Fairly digitally-savvy
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Proficient in GSuite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Good with admin

Location: Remote

Salary: Up to R10,000 pm (depending on experience)
