What You’ll Do:
As an intern journalist, we expect the following:
- Research and Report: Dive into stories, conduct research, interview sources, and gather essential information.
- Write and Edit: Craft compelling, accurate, and thought-provoking articles tailored to our audience.
- Create Multimedia Content: Contribute content across various digital channels, including our core websites, weekly newsletters and social media.
- Meet Deadlines: Deliver high-quality content on time, whether supplied by our clients or produced by you.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong Writing Skills: Demonstrable experience in journalism, with solid writing, editing, and fact-checking abilities. You may use tools like ChatGPT to support your work.
- Curiosity and Initiative: A keen interest in discovering unique stories and the determination to pursue them.
- Adaptability: Willingness to cover a variety of topics, from lifestyle and adventure to reviews and human interest pieces.
- Digital Skills: Familiarity with digital tools and platforms to enhance storytelling and engage readers.
- Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with sources and work collaboratively within the team.
Compensation: Based on your skills and experience. (R6000 – R10000).
Location Requirement: This is an in-office role.
Candidates must reside within 45 minutes of our head office at Westlake Business Park, Tokai.
