About: 

Thuma Mina Teaching (TMT) is a non-profit Edtech organisation focused on improving education in South Africa. It develops high-quality, curriculum-aligned video lessons for Grades 7–9 that simplify CAPS content and support effective learning. These lessons are freely available on YouTube and will soon be hosted on TMT’s LMS, ensuring equal access to quality teaching regardless of location. TMT’s resources are used by teachers in classrooms, aftercare centres for structured learning, and learners for independent study. Must have own working laptop and a reliable internet connection

Key Responsibilities (Digital Content Updating)

• Create thumbnails, banners, and headers using Canva.

• Update YouTube thumbnails to the new TMT branding.

• Update Google Slides, Google Forms, and other resources to match the new brand identity.

• Creating certificates, name tags, and other training materials on Canva

• Split large workbooks into individual worksheets and upload them neatly to Google Drive.

• Create new workbook activities based on Thuma Mina video lessons.

• Generating QR codes for forms and resources

• Assist with general digital resource maintenance.

Admin & Training Support

• Assist with teacher training logistics (sign-in table, setup, packing, material preparation).

• Send out and follow up on feedback forms.

• Complete data entry after training (attendance, feedback summaries).

• Help organise, name, and maintain digital files and folders.

• Support basic admin tasks as needed.

Basic Skills Required

• Basic Canva skills (or willingness to learn quickly).

• Basic Google Workspace skills (Drive, Slides, Forms, Sheets, Docs).

• Ability to follow instructions and work neatly.

• Basic computer literacy (typing, navigating folders, renaming files).

• Reliability and consistency.

• Bonus (not required): Basic design or social media knowledge.

What You’ll Learn (Training Provided)

• How to design thumbnails, banners, and digital assets using Canva.

• File management and digital organisation best practices.

• How teacher training sessions run (event admin experience).

• How to collect, send, and analyse feedback form data.

• How to create educational worksheets and activities from videos.

• Branding, content consistency, and resource packaging.

Who This Internship Is Perfect For?

B.Ed senior phase students (3rd - or 4th-year) who want to gain hands-on EdTech experience and strengthen their CV before entering the workforce.
