Requirements:

• B Eng / BSc or BTech degree in Civil Engineering or final year of studies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Knowledge in relevant software applications advantageous (AutoCAD, Excel, Word)

• Minimum average of 60% pass rate• English and/or Afrikaans speaking

• Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates, females and persons with disabilities

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers and project managers with various aspects of project planning and execution.

• Participate in project meetings, contribute to discussions, and provide support as needed.

• Use CAD software to create detailed engineering drawings and plans.

• Work with design teams to develop layouts, schematics, and construction documents.

• Gather and analyse data from site surveys, tests, and research to support engineering decisions.

• Use data to create reports and recommendations.

• Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and technologies through research.

• Assist in preparing cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.

• Monitor project costs and collaborate with the team to stay within budget.

• Perform engineering calculations related to relevant areas.

• Ensure designs meet safety and regulatory standards.

• Maintain organized project files, records, and documentation.

• Prepare progress reports, memos, and other project-related documents.

• Participate in quality control checks to ensure construction work adheres to design specifications.

• Collaborate with senior engineers to address any design-related issues.

• Communicate effectively and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

• Assist in identifying and resolving technical challenges and issues that arise during projects.

• Collaborate with colleagues to find practical solutions.
