Apply now for the Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA) Internship Programme 2024! This is a 24-month contract position offering a monthly stipend. The programme is designed to provide practical work experience for graduates aiming to build careers in the tourism industry.

1. 3 X Tourism Management (Internship)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Amongst others, the intern will be responsible for:
  • Providing support and assistance on Visitor Information Provision on visitor Desks and roadshows.
  • Assisting the with the unit administrative support and coordination of general, corporate matters.
  • Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and update all documents within the unit when required.
  • Perform administrative duties and support the unit and subunits.
  • Assist with filing within the unit and subunits.
  • Assist with answering calls within the unit and subunits
  • Assist in managing office operations (including scheduling of appointments, diarizing matters within the senior manager’s office)
  • Assist with payments of invoices within the unit and subunits. Liase with finance to ensure payments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A three-year bachelor’s degree, National Diploma in Tourism Management
2. Creatives Digital Content Producer (Internship)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Amongst others, the intern will be responsible for:
  • Brainstorm and research ideas for original content
  • Assist digital marketing team with graphic design, and execution of various marketing and corporate GTA campaigns
  • Assist with the creation of weekly and monthly editorial calendars and graphics to promote on the various GTA digital marketing platforms
  • Assist the digital marketing team with website content (including designing, organisation, and new content creation)
  • Create and edit compelling and eye-catching images and graphics for the website and to share across social media channels
  • Develop and compile an electronic GTA marketing and Brand Comms toolkits
  • Video: Produce and edit short-form video content for social media team as needed
  • Assist with design elements for HTML newsletters
  • Develop new strategies for increasing engagement on digital marketing platforms
  • Assist with live photo/video content shoots at events
  • Ensure brand ci and message is consistent
  • Assist with designing compelling signage and posters
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • A three-year bachelor’s degree, National Diploma in Journalism / Copy Writing, Communications, Brand Communications, or B.A Arts. Written portfolio of previous completed and published work. Knowledge in the tourism and destination marketing space will be an added advantage.
3. Digital and Social Media Content Producer (Internship)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Amongst others, the intern will be responsible for:
  • Brainstorm and research ideas for original content
  • Conduct competitor social and digital channels analysis
  • Create weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote on the various GTA digital marketing platforms
  • Write social media captions that speak to the GTA digital target audience with GTA brand consistency
  • Create and distribute written content such as social media posts, blogs, articles, press releases on social media and the website – www.gauteng.net
  • Respond to comments and DMs on social media platforms in liaison with GTA’s digital marketing team
  • Support the GTA marketing team at live and online events
  • Assist with the overall development of the GTA social media accounts tone, language and texture
  • Assist with digital campaign implementation
  • Perform social media market research
  • Assist with monitoring and tracking of social media engagement on GTA platforms to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns
  • Assist the GTA Digital Marketing team to analyse analytics to gauge the success of campaigns.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A three-year bachelor’s degree, National Diploma in Digital Marketing, Brand Communications, Communications, Journalism or B.A Arts. Written portfolio of previous completed and published work. Knowledge in the tourism and destination marketing space will be an added advantage
