Apply now for the Joseph Grieveson Apprentice Moulder 2025. The apprentice will have to serve the employer productively in exchange for knowledge and experience in order to gain a Foundry Moulder’s trade qualification.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Attend training courses/classes or undertake correspondence study in accordance with the training schedule, and successfully completing the prescribed examinations.

• Keep detailed records of training received, including the successful completion of modules in a training record.

• Adhere to the rules and regulations of the MERSETA apprenticeship contract.

• Work diligently under the guidance of senior staff, acquiring the relevant knowledge and practical experience required to pass the trade test.

• Assist in the creation of moulds.

• Collaborate with senior Moulders and foundry personnel to develop high-quality moulds based on specifications.

• Assist in the preparation and modification of moulds.

• Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving during moulding processes to identify and correct defects.

• Regularly inspect and assess moulds for quality, ensuring they are free of defects and comply with specifications.

• Contribute to maintaining a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools and materials are safely stored.

Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:

Matric or Nated equivalent, including the following subjects:

· Mathematics

· Physical Science

· Engineering Drawing

• High level of standards and commitment to craftsmanship.

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team to achieve common objectives.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions clearly.

• Strong safety awareness, with a focus on maintaining a safe working environment.

• Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to new methods of pattern-making in a foundry setting.

Please note: Successful applicants’ will receive an hourly wage rate of R53.34 for the first year of their apprenticeship, as per the Metal Industry Main Agreement.
