Apply for the Citizen Journalism Graduate Opportunity 2026. The company is offering a motivated and ambitious graduate an opportunity to join one of South Africa’s largest newspaper publishers. No previous work experience is required, except for unpaid internships completed as part of your qualification. Their digital platform, citizen.co.za, is consistently ranked among the top news websites in the country.
A full time, office-based position is available in Craighall, Johannesburg for a Graduate with a degree or diploma in journalism, media studies or related field.
Applicants must have a strong appetite for breaking news and be able to produce good content in a fast-paced, breaking news environment.
Graduates are taken through a 12-month full time programme, commencing in February 2026, which introduces the working world, as well as a foundation for further development. You will be supported by mentors and work on projects in order to gain valuable practical experience.
The successful graduate will become part of the digital team for a year, creating content for our website www.citizen.co.za and online platforms.
