Apply now for the Lesira Mechanical Engineer Internship 2024. Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the site, machinery, equipment and utilities used operate at their maximum availability, reliability and efficiency in compliance with the OHS Act 85 of 1993 as well as the latest relevant Mechanical engineering standard and best practise.
Role:
• Assist with mechanical design, develop, test, and manufacture devices, tools, and machines.
• Develop, manufacture and assemble mechanical parts for equipment
• Carry out factory equipment inspections as per maintenance schedules.
• Carry out maintenance work on all mechanical systems on site. After completing tasks run a test to ensure that equipment is properly operating and producing material according to the specification.
• Keeping records of operations and maintenance procedures.
• Perform fault finding on machinery.
• Maintain production machines, electrically/mechanically driven machines.
• Inspect fabricated components to ensure that they are manufactured to specific standards.
• Using welding equipment to fuse structural components
• React to breakdowns expediently.
Skills/Qualifications:
• Recently graduated with a minimum of National Diploma or BEng in Mechanical engineering.
• Academic average of 60% or higher. (Academic Record must be attached with the application)
• Trade Tested would be an advantage.
• Must have a proactive culture.
• Ability to deal with stressful situations in a fast-paced environment.
