Education:
- Grade 12
- Diploma/Degree in Health & Safety Qualification
Licenses: Valid Code 8/10 driver’s license
Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office
Knowledge:
- Familiarity with the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 legislation
- Knowledge of environmental-related legislation is advantageous
Residency: Must reside in the Limpopo Province, specifically Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality/Glenover outside Lephalale
Health: Must be able to obtain a valid medical certificate of fitness to work in an opencast mine setting

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with daily SHHEQ (Safety, Health, Hygiene, Environment, and Quality) functions
- Write SHE reports
- Support in managing Safety files, Induction, Training, Legal appointments, and competency cards
- Report to the Manager and Junior SHE Officer within agreed-upon timeframes
- Assist in recording, reporting, and investigating incidents and accidents, monitoring action plans for implementation of recommendations
- Conduct periodic workplace and equipment inspections and audits (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly)
- Assist in managing waste management and recycling programs to minimize environmental impact
- Conduct toolbox talks
