Apply for the Foundation for Human Rights Internship Programme 2025. The FHR seeks to appoint suitably qualified individual(s) at our offices in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.
Position: Internship (12 months)
Responsibilities:
• Participate actively in assigned programme work, ensuring that systems, processes and outputs are efficiently and effectively implemented and are grounded in FHR values.
• Work within the programme team to ensure the effective implementation of committed objectives.
• Provide administrative assistance to assigned team/s.
Requirements and Experience:
• A postgraduate degree in the Social Sciences, Law, International Relations, or other relevant discipline;
• Working knowledge of, and commitment to, social justice and a human rights-based approach to social change;
• Ability to work independently and commitment to working within a team;
• Commitment to efficient and effective project administration, planning and coordination;
• Ability and availability to travel within South Africa;
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
• Experience with media and communication, particularly the use of social media, will be an advantage;
• Prior involvement and or activism in social justice is an advantage;
• Experience in conducting independent research and report-writing including policy research is an advantage.
