Apply for the Deltamun Veterinary Technologist Internship 2025. This is a structured training role is designed to provide hands-on experience and professional development in bacteriology within vaccine and associated animal health product research and development. The Graduate Entry Veterinary Technologist will support bacterial isolation, purification, and characterisation, contributing to vaccine and diagnostic product development. Under the guidance of senior scientists, the role will involve using microbiological and serological tools contributing to the completion of diagnostic and vaccine projects in line with strategic business, regulatory, and quality requirements.

This fixed-term opportunity provides a learning platform for a graduate entering the field, offering exposure to industry-standard laboratory practices, quality management systems, and product development processes. The incumbent is expected to uphold Deltamune’s brand, values, and commitment to scientific excellence

Key Accountabilities

• Isolation, culturing, and storage of bacterial field isolates

• Execution of laboratory experiments for vaccine and supportive diagnostic product development

• Assisting with bacteriological and serological assays as required

• Coordinating bacterial seed storage for the offsite biobank

• Maintenance and calibration of equipment used during development projects

• Writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions as needed

• Assist with in-house development of ELISA plates

• Ensuring compliance with Deltamune’s Quality System, policies, and procedures

• Adherence to company policies, including delegation of authority

• Accurate and timely reporting

• Proper documentation of expenses and adherence to budget constraints

• Effective use of IT tools and laboratory resources

• Contribution to a collaborative and efficient work environment

Knowledge / Experience

• Passion for bacterial cultivation and purification, including fastidious bacteria

• Good understanding of microbiological techniques and laboratory protocols

• Willingness to learn

• Less than 12 months professional experience post-graduation

Competencies / Skills / Attributes Required

• Effective communication skills at different levels

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Qualifications

• BHSci in Veterinary Technology

• Registration or eligible for registration with SAVC
